On behalf of the Greater Mitchell Chamber of Commerce, I would like to welcome each of you to the 63rd annual Persimmon Festival. I sincerely hope you take the time to enjoy Mitchell's historic downtown, filled with antique shops: and I invite you to visit the local businesses taht continuously the festival and the community, many of which you'll see as sponsors on this website and in the festival book.

The Theme for this year is "Welcome Home." In Choosing the theme, I thought of the many people who use the Persimmon Festival as a time to come home, visit and renew acquaintances.

The Grand marshall for the Persimmon Festival this year is the Mitchell Area Ministeral Association because the organization, comprised of local ministers and churches, is a part of our extended family. The ministerial association is an unseen force i the communitythat touches everyone's lives, offering assistance to many in need.

The People of Mitchell welcome you to their hometown, which was established in 1853. We take great pride in the Persimmon Festival, and hope that you enjoy your visit, while creating new traditions.
